Propane/Anhydrous Ammonia Program

The Division of Weights and Measures inspects liquid propane meters, anhydrous ammonia applicators, nurse tanks, and storage equipment. Specifications for liquid propane meters have been adopted from NIST Handbook 44 Specifications, Tolerances, and Other Technical Requirements for Weighing and Measuring Devices. Propane safety standards follow the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Anhydrous ammonia safety standards have been adopted from the American National Standards Institute.
